Farm to Table Wine Dinners

Chaminade Resort & Spa, a Benchmark Resort® , has announced the dates for its highly acclaimed Farm to Table Wine Dinner series that take place May through October. Now in its twelfth season, Chaminade's culinary team prepare a bountiful alfresco dinner overlooking the Monterey Bay. Join us Friday, October 25th of our last dinner of the season.  

The evening begins with a wine and passed hors d'oeuvres reception at 6:00 p.m., on the outdoor patio with stunning panoramic views of the Santa Cruz Mountains and Monterey Bay. Dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. featuring a five-course menu and carefully paired wines. Enjoy soothing acoustic jams from local musician Asher Stern, which complement the dining experience.  

Reserved seating is not an option, as all guests are seated at large, connecting, beautifully set tables designed to invite open conversations amongst guests.

The menu: Each menu takes careful planning by our culinary team here at Chaminade Resort & Spa. Locally sourced products make this five course meal delicious from start to finish. The team uses locally raised poultry and meats, sources the freshest crop along the Central Coast and pairs it with the winemakers finest selections. Click here to view a menu.

July 26th Dinner - SixSigma Ranch

Six Sigma Winery was inaugurated on September 28th, 2005, when we processed our first grapes, a beautiful vintage of Tempranillo harvested in Christian’s Diamond Mine Vineyard. We focus on small lot, high quality wines, and every aspect of our winery reflects that, from state-of-the-art equipment to gentle handling and meticulous hand-sorting of the grapes, ensuring that only the best fruit is used in each of our wines.

About Scheid Family Wines: Al Scheid first saw untapped potential in Monterey County in 1972 when the wine region was in its infancy. What started as a grape growing operation that sold 100% of its production to other wineries today has evolved into a grapes-to-glass family business that crafts authentic and elegant wines. Our Scheid Family Wines portfolio now includes five unique and distinctive labels: Scheid Vineyards, District 7, Metz Road, VDR and Stokes’ Ghost.

The Winery: Our state-of-the-art winery located just off Highway 101 in Greenfield, California is designed to reduce energy usage and cut waste, and boasts a crushing capacity of 30,000 tons. Our tanks are all designed for maximum efficiency, with insulating jackets that reduce heating and cooling energy needs. We compost 100% of the grape pomace, stems and seeds and spread it back into the vineyards, and we recycle 100% of winery water through our wastewater irrigation ponds and reuse it on our vineyards. Our winery is certified by the British Retail Consortium and GLOBAL G.A.P., two of the most rigorous independent certification bodies in the world.

September 27th Dinner - Summit to Sea Wineries

The Summit to Sea Wine Trail is a unique collection of wineries, each ready to welcome you with hospitality and exceptional award winning wines. It only takes a day to fully enjoy the Wine Trail or you can plan a few weekends to experience all that each winery has to offer. We invite you to explore this site and see where the trail leads you. You'll find more than just great wine!  The trail can be enjoyed in two ways. You can start on the Summit at Burrell School, go on to the top of the world at, Loma Prieta, then a scenic drive down to Poetic Cellars nestled in the mountains. Or start from the coast to Poetic Cellars and then wind your way up to the Summit.  Whatever your favorite wines, the Summit to Sea Wineries will have the perfect pairing for you to enjoy. Come explore the scenic beauty of our wine country, taste the fruits of our vineyards, and stay for a picnic or perhaps some live music. Richard Alfaro and and his wife Mary Kay enjoy the fruits of their labor. After a satisfying career as the founders of a restaurant and the wholesale baking company known under their own name - Alfaro's Micro Bakery - the couple shifted gears in 1997, acquiring an aging 75 acre apple farm south of Santa Cruz in Corralitos, California, which they subsequently transformed into Alfaro Family Vineyards & Winery.  With 56 acres currently under vine, the most-recently planted 8 acres was CCOF Certified Organic in 2010.
