Farm to Table Wine Dinners

Local Wine and the Finest Food Local Growers Have to Offer

Friends enjoy wine with locally grown food at Santa Cruz resort.

Nine years ago Chaminade Resort & Spa conceptualized an intimate dinner with local wine and the finest that local growers and producers had to offer, in a natural setting overlooking the Monterey Bay.  In May of 2008 the first Farm to Table Wine Dinner was hosted with a humble crowd of 12 guests. Today Chef Kirsten Ponza and her team, will host the 9th Annual Farm to Table Wine Dinner series, with dinners expected to be at maximum capacity.

Storrs Winery

Stephen Storrs  and Pamela Bianchini-Storrs began Storrs Winery with the harvest of 1988.  Both trained as winemakers at UC Davis, they worked at a number of wineries including Domaine Chandon, Felton-Empire Vineyards, and Almaden prior to starting their own.  With their first vintage, they focused on the unique appellation in their backyard – the Santa Cruz Mountains.  Having worked in this terrain for years, they appreciated the cool climate's Burgundian advantage.  Click to learn more about Storrs Winery>>

Morgan Winery

With more than thirty years’ experience, Dan Lee and the Morgan label have been synonymous with artisan, vineyard-centric wines from the Santa Lucia Highlands and Monterey. Coming from a small town in California’s Central Valley, Dan Morgan Lee had prepared initially for the study of veterinary medicine at the University of California, Davis.  It was late in his college career that he discovered enology satisfied his interest in both science and agriculture. Immediately enrolling in the graduate enology program, Dan completed his studies and was hired as winemaker at Jekel Winery in Monterey County. Click to learn more about Morgan Winery>>

Alfaro Family Vineyards & Winery

Richard Alfaro and and his wife Mary Kay enjoy the fruits of their labor. After a satisfying career as the founders of a restaurant and the wholesale baking company known under their own name - Alfaro's Micro Bakery - the couple shifted gears in 1997, acquiring an aging 75 acre apple farm south of Santa Cruz in Corralitos, California, which they subsequently transformed into Alfaro Family Vineyards & Winery.  With 56 acres currently under vine, the most-recently planted 8 acres was CCOF Certified Organic in 2010. Click to learn more about Alfaro Wines>>
