Benchmark Hospitality Appoints Norbert Relecker General Manager for Chaminade at Santa Cruz

The Woodlands (Houston), Texas, February 2008 … Benchmark Hospitality International has appointed Norbert Relecker as general manager for Chaminade at Santa Cruz, the resort overlooking Monterey Bay, California. Tom O'Shea, vice president for Benchmark, made the announcement.

“I am so pleased to welcome Norbert to our resort,” said Mr. O'Shea. “He provides Chaminade and Benchmark Hospitality with strong domestic and international senior leadership experience, and offers a solid background within our industry, including time invested in California.”

Norbert Relecker brings two decades of executive leadership expertise to his new role at Chaminade at Santa Cruz. Most recently, Mr. Relecker held the position of general manager for the Highlands Inn, a Park Hyatt property located in Carmel, California.

Mr. Relecker also served for a period of time as general manager of the Hyatt Regency Houston Airport Hotel. He launched his hospitality career working for Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, including positions held at the Hyatt Dorado Beach in Puerto Rico.

Internationally, Mr. Relecker has served in executive positions at properties throughout Germany and the Philippines. He has command of four languages, which served him well throughout the international portion of his career.

Norbert Relecker is a graduate of the Hotel School Dr. W. Blindow of Hanover, Germany. He is as passionate about giving back to his community as he is about his career and is active on the board of the Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children of Monterey County, and serves on the board of the Monterey County Sheriff's Advisory Council. Mr. Relecker is also Maitre Hotelier of the Confrérie de la Chaîne des Rôtisseurs. He resides in Salinas, California with his family.
